Benedict can't help but chuckle. "Thank you," He says, genuinely meaning his words. He hopes he finds peace too. And appreciates her hoping for it as well. "I hope so too," He adds.

"All good, I hope." Benedict says with a chuckle.

Benedict chuckles at his sibling's admission. He's glad that his candy stash is still intact. But does wonder what it is his sibling wants to talk about, then. "Good."

"Oh?" He says when the other sibling mentions trying to tell their mom but she didn't understand. That only makes Benedict more curious to hear whatever his sibling has to say.

He notices the fidgeting and looks at his sibling with a look of concern and compassion. Is something wrong? Benedict certainly hopes not. But he wants his sibling to know that they can tell him anything. "Whatever it is, I'm sure we'll figure it out. What is family for, after all?"

At the mention of someone choosing wrong, when his sibling was born, Benedict's eyes widen. He doesn't fully grasp the meaning, though, until his sibling mentions being a girl like Hyacinth. Not a boy like Benedict. He stops, pauses, his mouth opening in surprise. His eyes are still wide.

Benedict had heard of such things happening. And he himself is not the ton's ideal, what with his lack of wanting to settle down and his attraction to people regardless of their gender. But he must admit, he hadn't seen the signs in this case. However, he wants to support his sibling. His sister, he corrects himself. "Okay..." He begins, a soft smile on his face. "That's fine, with me." A pause, another chuckle escapes him. "What would you like us to call you? I mean, would you like a different name?" Benedict assumes she will want a different name and that's alright with him. He does wonder what name she will choose, and if it will still be with a G in alphabetical order. Either way, Benedict will be supportive.

Gregory couldn't stop her grin despite the way she'd been sitting across from her older brother looking entirely dejected just seconds before. "No... not this time," she admitted with a giggle. She had been guilty of that more times than she'd liked to admit. This time, it was amore serious admission. One she didn't really know how to word, but she had to try.

"I tried to tell mum, but I don't think she understands..." She could remember so many times when she was much younger that she said she didn't want to wear boy clothes but instead girl clothes. She used to scream the house down over it some days. Why did Hyacinth get all the pretty clothes and she got the boring clothes? As she got older though, she realized it wasn't just dresses. The thought of being a lord instead of a lady or a husband instead of a wife, just didn't seem right. And why was Hyacinth and the rest of her sisters treated differently from her and she was treated like her brothers? Because apparently she was 'a boy' and that didn't make any sense to her. She didn't want to look like her brothers, she wanted to look like her sisters! But nobody seemed to care that she wasn't really a brother or a son.

Gregory frowned, fidgeting with her hands as she tried to figure out how to explain it. "Someone chose wrong. When I was born." Was it the doctor? Their mother? She still didn't know how boys and girls were chosen or who did the choosing. "I should've been a girl. Like Hyacinth. Not like you." She didn't think Benedict would believe her and if he didn't, she didn't know what to do next. Would she just have to be a boy for the rest of her life and then become a man? The thought made her sick.

Benedict nods. He is unsure of where to even begin. Especially with his mother. Wouldn't she be shocked at his behavior? Being in multiple relationships, is hardly the norm in the ton. Nor is being attracted to those who are the same gender. So Benedict is unsure of how to tell his mother that he has done both. That, as of right now, he is unsure about settling down.

Perhaps that will change. He doesn't know. Perhaps he will fall in love with one person, as his mother had, as his siblings had, but for now he doesn't want to settle down. He wants to explore. To enjoy. To appreciate all that the world has to offer.

"I know." A pause, a chuckle. "But I doubt you'd want to hear what I have to say."

"I am sure you'd find it disturbing." He says with a frown. He doesn't want to disturb his mother, but he desperately needs to tell someone, before it comes out accidentally with someone who wouldn't like it.

Benedict frowns at his sister's words. "What do you mean, dear sister?" He hopes nothing is wrong. And if it is, he hopes to be able to cheer her up.

"Is everything alright?" A pause, a kind smile. "Can I help you in any way?"
